I am pleased to announce that the 2018 National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Tennessee Bell Academy application is live and open for families to sign-up. This year we are holding Bell Academies in three locations including Memphis, Clarksville, and Antioch.
All three programs will be residential with the Memphis Bell Academy being held on the University of Memphis. This is an opportunity for students who are blind or low vision to increase braille literacy, use of non-visual techniques, cane travel, explore adaptive technology, and participate in sports and recreational events. There will also be fun-filled field trips. We also plan to increase knowledge in STEM subjects.
This two-week residential program will take place from June 4-15, 2018, with students returning home on the weekend. Both financial and transportation assistance is available for families. Please help us spread the word by sending this out to your contacts. The link to the application is below:
