New TAC at MATA

MATA begins a new advisory group

On Friday June 23, 2017 the members of the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) met for their second time in MATA’s board room.  Jessica Buttermore and Tim Flack were elected to serve as the committee’s chair and vice chair respectively. They will work with MATA to ensure that information is communicated to all committee members and that meetings run smoothly. 

Dates for our next three meetings are August 18th, November 3rd, and January 19th from 1:00-3:00 PM. Other agenda items during the meeting included a presentation regarding MATA’s funding, an overview of proposed route changes, and information about MATA’s current communication survey and upcoming focus groups. 

This was a good meeting because it provided training on topics that all members need to be aware of and enabled us to provide feedback.  As a result there will be a small group looking into how to make MATA buses more astatically pleasing to the eye.  A second group will be looking at customer service and how to make it better.  To stay informed on the goings on at MATA you can follow them on Facebook and on Twitter (ridemata), or visit their website http://www.matatransit.com.  Finally, you can also provide feedback on how MATA is doing by taking their communication survey, which will take about ten minutes to complete by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MATACommunications.
